Kuehne + Nagel, one of the largest freight distribution companies in the world, needed an external resource to provide their UK marketing team with ad hoc marketing support.
Kuehne + Nagel is one of the largest freight distribution companies in the world. Their UK marketing director needed a cost-effective external resource to provide him with a responsive, high quality ad hoc marketing support service. He searched for London marketing agencies and found Abacus.
The first project we worked on was a simple one, to test the water and see how we got on. As it happens, it couldn’t have been more successful. We were tasked with putting together an entry for an industry award, an award they had never previously won. Under exacting time pressure, we interviewed relevant people at K+N and absorbed a significant amount of information before entering the award. We created a series of email marketing campaigns to support the nomination process. Kuehne + Nagel won the award, and we were asked to submit another award entry for another product, which they also won.
Having proven our worth, we were subsequently commissioned to create a series of product leaflets, and we also delivered ad hoc large format signage solutions for their regional offices. This led to us being asked to deliver a complete office signage solution for their flagship head office. The designs proved so popular they are now been used in K+N offices around the world.
We were then asked to assist with the creation of a corporate presentation that could be used by over 500 UK salespeople. The challenge was to integrate content from different parts of the business, each of which had developed their own presentation. Another key objective was to make sure that it was easy to navigate the presentation, as well as ensuring it would display correctly on every single person’s laptop regardless of age or size.
We created an interactive solution with a menu system that allowed users to access any page in two clicks. This was important as the presentation ran to almost 250 slides, and a linear PowerPoint solution would have proven unusable. We designed the presentation so that it had a welcome section which could be personalised. We created an animated video to launch the presentation, which is now used in reception areas at many of their UK offices.
